As a once serious social sanction, the curse is currently experiencing a renaissance: Social networks and platforms forms a community, that can give individual thoughts an undreamt relevance and power through their hughe, global attention-economy. A technoid mysticism surrounds this curs- and wish-machine, through which communication has been channeled, ideas have been formed, and previous morality and ethics have been put to the test since several generations.
Age of Curse looks at this strange proximity of digitality and spirituality and asks about the immortality of our data, the voodoo between all the math of modern information technology. In the endless white-rooms of the Cubic Studios Düsseldorf and with video scenes by the 3D animation artist Fabian Heitzhausen, the new dance piece by Chikako Kaido examines the nature of bits and bytes in analog and digital bodies.
